Harrison racing update

The first round of the IoM ACU Centre Championship took place at Jurby Motordrome on the 22nd March 2015, the weather was fine and sunny with lights and the temperature what you would expect for mid-march.

Event 1 1300cc Solos Centre Championship

Nathan was a little apprehensive for his first race meeting on the new Chris Preston Racing / Supported by Toyo Tyres GSXR 600 Suzuki, but he soon got to grips with the bigger bike and qualified 5th for the Centre Championship Opener, after a lightening start Nathan held on to 3rd place for half of the race distance, but used his head in the later stages of the race when he was suffering from arm pump and ended the race in 5th position.

Glenn had a massive misfortune for the start of the race 1, on his Chris Preston Racing / Supported by Toyo Tyres GSXR 600 Suzuki, a few problems with the seat on his bike during qualifying where he qualified 2nd resulted in the battery terminal being dislodged when fixing the seat bracket and then off the start of the warm up lap the terminal lost contact which resulted in no electrics, no points for Glenn in round 1.

Event 3 600cc Solos

Glenn’s bike no all fixed and ready to for the 600 race, qualified 3rd for the race and rode with a little caution to ensure all was good with the bike and took a solid 4th place and bagged some much needed points and conformation the bike was all good to go.

Nathan qualified a bit further down the field for this race in 7th  position, but again got another great start and rode a great race with more miles under his belt on the new bike to finish a great 6th place.

Event 8 1300cc Solos Centre Championship

Glenn back on the grid for round 2 of the Centre Championship, rode well after all the upset in the 1st round to a fine 4th place, Nathan rode well again to 6th  place.

Event 10 600cc Solos

Round two of the 600 championship proved better again for Glenn, with a good 3rd place, bike all good and some much needed racing miles under his belt ready for a long season.

Nathan had another good race, lowering his lap times all day to finish up less .5 of second of the leaders lap times, finishing in 6th place.

The weekend proved a great start to the season even with an electrical fault for Glenn in the 1st round, both riders have points on the board and are ready for an eventful season.

Special thanks to Chris Preston for the supply of the bikes and the fantastic support as always, Toyo Tires for their massive support, Steam Packet Company, Poutinline Oils, HiFlo Filters and JT sprockets.
