Toyo Tires Release The First 20” Track Day Tyre For The Nissan R35 GTRToyo Tires have developed a specific fitment tailored to the needs of the Nissan R35 GTR.
We have developed the 285/35 ZR 20 (100Y) front and 315/30 ZR 20 (101Y) rear sizes in the Proxes R888 range. This is a welcome addition to the most extensive trackday tyre range available, and will be launched for the first time in the UK at the Autosport show. The tyres will be fitted to the Sumo Power 660bhp Nissan R35 GTR demonstration car on the Time Attack stand, Hall 20, 2655 so come along and see our product on show.
The Nissan GT-R is a limited production, Japanese supercar that boasts 485 all-wheel-drive horsepower. With its incredible power and handling, it is the ideal car for high-performance driving schools, track days and timed competition. Therefore the Proxes R888 semi-slick road-legaltrackday tyre is a natural fit for this supercar. It is already known for its exceptional handling and grip and has firmly established itself as the No.1 trackday tyre in the UK. The R888 enhances the track capabilities with features such as a continuous centre contact for excellent directional control during hard braking. A unidirectional, 5mm tread pattern with v-shaped grooves enhances wet traction and control, while a semi-slick shoulder area helps to increase cornering force.
This is why the Time Attack series chose the R888 as its control Tyre. The series includes cars that have in excess of 700bhp, therefore the R888’s have a proven track record to be able to handle the type of power output expected from such highly powered sports cars.
