Back-to-Back SCORE Trophy Truck Championships
21 November 2024
Alan Ampudia and Toyo Tires have won the 2024 SCORE World Trophy Truck Championship. This achievement marks back-to-back Trophy Truck championships for Toyo Tires after previously winning in 2023 with Bryce Menzies.
In addition, Gustavo Vildósola Sr. and Toyo Tires captured a third consecutive SCORE Trophy Truck Legends class championship remaining undefeated for three seasons. Vildósola’s win streak now stands at an impressive 12 consecutive race victories, solidifying dominance in desert racing.
Alan Ampudia demonstrated remarkable speed, consistency, and skill in his #10 Monster Energy/Toyo Tires AWD Mason Motorsports Ford Raptor. He kicked off the season with a historic win at the SCORE San Felipe 250, setting a new record for the fastest winning time in the event’s history. Ampudia’s momentum continued throughout the season, culminating in his impressive solo drive at the SCORE Baja 1000, where he started strong, maintained a competitive pace, and executed a brilliant race strategy. Ampudia advanced four positions to finish 3rd in the Trophy Truck class (4th overall), with an official time of 17 hours, 12 minutes, and 58 seconds. This combination of results for the season earned him the 2024 SCORE World Trophy Truck Championship.
In the SCORE Trophy Truck Legends class, Gustavo Vildósola Sr. and his team continued their legendary streak. With co-drivers Mike Coleman and Ricky Johnson, Vildósola’s #1L Mason Motorsports / Toyo Tires / Vildosola Racing / Ford Raptor completed another perfect season, winning all four races in 2024. The team’s unbeaten performance culminated in a dramatic finish at the Baja 1000, where they crossed the line in 1st place in their class (3rd overall) with an official time of 17 hours, one minute, and 39 seconds. Vildósola and Toyo Tires extend their record of consecutive race victories to 12, underlining a commanding presence in the SCORE series and solidifying their status as a dominant force in off-road racing.
“We broke records and celebrated major victories this season that led us to the 2024 World Championship!” said Alan Ampudia. “A huge part of this success is thanks to our Toyo tires and now, we’re gearing up for an even bigger 2025 season.”
“Twelve wins in a row and another championship, what an incredible feat,” said Gustavo Vildósola Sr. “The rain made visibility tough during the race, but the Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires gave us the grip and durability we needed to win. I couldn’t have done this without the team and their flawless execution.”
